I take immense pride as a Bhaaratiya and as a Hindu - I have complete faith that the Sanatani value system can truly guide us towards inner peace which forms the nucleus of all my actions. I like to think of myself as a Thought Provoker and an Inquisitive Traveler committed to my nation’s tryst with destiny - to realize the dreams of Arya Chanakya, Swami Vivekananda, Veer Savarkar, Shivaji Maharaj, APJ Abdul Kalam and many more. My Faith: No cause is lost if there is 1 mad guy left to fight for it! My Motto: God give me courage to change what I can, the strength to accept what I can’t and the wisdom to know the difference! My Principle: Ask not what the nation does for you, ask what you can do for your nation! My Driving Force: Karen Raven's quote, "Only as high as I reach can I grow, only as far as I seek can I go, only as deep as I look can I see, only much as I dream can I be" My Goal: To make myself a better person today, than what I was yesterday!

CWG : Not a Joke, but a Lesson....

Q: How many contractors are required to change a light bulb in Delhi CWG stadium?
A: 1 Million -- 1 to change the bulb and rest 999,999 to hold the ceiling !!

This was a very recent "joke" I had received via email. There had been 14 odd more such points which were there but according to me, this one concerns us the most. It is a sad picture which has been reflected from the CWG site but that is not the only aspect which has to be given importance.

I find some deep wisdom hidden in the so-called "joke" mentioned above. We laugh at these related jokes and criticize instead of discussing the possible solutions within our circles. Even if the latter does occur it is a rarity.

I interpret the answer as - the nation is crumbling like the CWG stadium and there is a great need of support from the masses to hold it still. Among the millions, only 1 great leader or a small team of great men is/are enough to effect a change and usher in an era of light which symbolizes knowledge and chases away ignorance and unethical ideologies. The 1 person/team alone is/are not enough though as he/it needs the support of the masses. Even in mechanics, for a structure to be supported, supports are required at right points and of the required strength. When are we as the youth going to support the nation? Is it not the time for responsible actions rather than mockery of issues?

CWG is an intricate matter. I firmly believe that we are not in any position to host such international events. This opinion is not a result of the current mess of CWG but is formed because of the mindset within the nation. Going by today's report of 6000+ athletes confirming their participation, I would say we would have successful event. How did these athletes agree to participate is the matter of concern. Our nation today is an economic powerhouse having a great say in world matters. Countries including Canada, Australia and England among many others know very well that the trade and commerce relations with India  are important. (They will know why these relations are important with Bhaarat one day!) Not supporting India would be a big negative against the particular country is the clear cut message to the world. With the money that has been pooled in and the money which has been used to bribe not only the contracters and policy makers within the boundaries of the nation but also beyond, it is not hard to grasp the fact that the show will go on!

I just participated in a debate competition 2 days back where this was a topic of discussion and speakers for the motion (India is in position to host international events) stated that if SA and China can host international events even we can. Yes we can but not now. The countries mentioned earlier have shown an overall economic and infrastructural growth and we have not. Right beside a high rise structure or a 5 star hotel we see the shabby and infected slums!! There are pockets of growth while these nations have built a fabric of growth. The pockets of growth need to be expanded so that with combined efforts they can be stitched into a glistening garment of peace and prosperity. These countries ensure that the infrastructure contracts are signed with home companies and not with the foreign ones thus ensuring revenue generation. Above all, they are high on political will and national betterment as compared to selfishness in the corridors of power here!

The issue here is that the cancer of corruption and inequality must be finished off first if we as a nation are to challenge the other nations for the title of world champions and reign supreme as a super power. I maintain that dignity and honour can never be bought; they have to be commanded.

With the country's pride at stake I would always wish that such events go smoothly and become successful but I would not overlook the fact that we are yet to reach the hallmark of excellence which will allow us to execute international events with pride and responsibility. A broken image is very difficult to resurrect in the eyes of the majority. Honour is of paramount importance and one cannot forget -- Death before dishonour!!

So let us squash the infecting bacteria or viruses or whatever the biologists would like to call from within the nation and then roar! An infected lion can never rule the jungles. Let us cure our minds first before accepting responsibilities. We are infected because of the actions of our own people and us to a certain degree as well. This infection has to be cured by whatever means necessary. I would quote the example of Gujarat again. It is a live example of continued progress and development in this nation which is the culmination of eradication of terrorism and corruption from within its boundaries. Today, Gujarat can face any challenge and so we should all aspire to say the same about this nation as a whole!

My friends, let us awaken the lion within and roar loud and roar hard. We are not sheep to cower or run away but we are lions to skirmish for our lands and our nation. We cannot let the nation crumble....

That would be the time when sportsmen would want to participate and would not be forced to participate in this nation....

Inspite of all the wrong doings of corrupt CWG members, all the negativism by our own media along with international media;we must pray for success of CWG since Nation's pride is @ stake. We must deal with culprits after the games are over. Sneha.

hi chaitaya...
well the games are going smooth now, but actually its our good luck that they are going smooth. But as a youth how can we change this era..where all the high ranked officials are who need a wheel chair to walk and an ear plug to listen properly??I remember a dialouge from rajneeti "power pida kare hum log aur batan de de aap logo (our old and useless politicians) haath mein". I know this all cwg issue will end with the games. And i pray to God to prove me wrong..

Invading the power circles is important Mahi. It is not the case that there are no good people but the actual case is that good people are not that great a team as required in the current scenario.
The absence of light is darkness...similarly, absence of knowledge (awareness in this case) has led our nation to the abyss (ignorance).
To answer your question, we need to spread this awareness through all routes, by all means possible and then can we bring back 'The Era of Greatness'....
Let us do this for a start and then God willing, youth with sound minds and souls will take charge of the nation one day and hopefully we will be among them to not only create power but take the nation to glory as well....
