Analyst, Investor, Student, Animal Lover, Gaming Enthusiast, Saarthi, Hindu Nationalist, Seeker and Chaitanya! I take immense pride as a Bhaaratiya and as a Hindu - I have complete faith that the Sanatani value system can truly guide us towards inner peace which forms the nucleus of all my actions. I like to think of myself as a Thought Provoker and an Inquisitive Traveler committed to my nation’s tryst with destiny - to realize the dreams of Arya Chanakya, Swami Vivekananda, Veer Savarkar, Shivaji Maharaj, APJ Abdul Kalam and many more. My Faith: No cause is lost if there is 1 mad guy left to fight for it! My Motto: God give me courage to change what I can, the strength to accept what I can’t and the wisdom to know the difference! My Principle: Ask not what the nation does for you, ask what you can do for your nation! My Driving Force: Karen Raven's quote, "Only as high as I reach can I grow, only as far as I seek can I go, only as deep as I look can I see, only much as I dream can I be" My Goal: To make myself a better person today, than what I was yesterday!

Colonial India : From West to East....

Hold your horses (Actually your thoughts) before you ask yourself why I have posted "India" and not Bhaarat. You will find that explanation in the subsequent paragraphs.

Digging into our history books, in our primary and secondary school days we had those lessons about how the East India Company arrived with an excuse of trading and went on to capture the entire Indian sub-continent by pitting the locals against each other in the game of one-upmanship. Things have not changed if colonialism is to be studied. It was West first; East now.
It was cotton, sugarcane etc first; iron now. It was taught to us how the Company robbed us of the raw materials, processed them in Britain and sold it to us at much higher profits. 44% of our Chinese exports constitute freshly mined Iron Ore. Once mined, the lands turn barren. We are squandering our resources and at what a great cost! India is the only Asian country to run a trade deficit with China. We buy back these processed goods (which have been directly or indirectly manufactured with our own Iron Ore) at high prices thus incurring losses. The imports we have from China are basically electronic goods or machinery which degrade rapidly not only because they are dead assets but also as they are Chinese! Apart from this gross imbalance, China has repeatedly showed its Anti-India policies; may it be providing military assistance to a nation which is known to carry government and army backed strikes against us or capturing land from our regions or the rapid infrastructure growth which includes dams, railways etc built purposefully as a deterrent for our growth.

Given on this backdrop, should we not say an emphatic "Enough is enough!"? The Government chooses to ignore this even when the Prime Minister is the go-to man when it comes to economics. We as the people can't stop that trade at the moment, I agree. For the time being let us hope that God gives us the strength for it all. Along with hope, there is also an act which we can do to stop this rogue behaviour. As you are aware, many US manufacturing plants had to shut down because of China's economic invasion of the US market. With the cheap goods and low pricing or suppression of the Yuan (Which is a major concern for the American market at the moment and will surely be our headache too in the future if we neglect this crisis), Chinese goods have flooded the markets in US and over the world thus fracturing local manufacturers and denting the country's economy. What we can do is to pledge that we the people, will avoid purchasing anything with the Chinese label on it. Stop buying Chinese goods with immediate effects; may it be those electronic handsets (which already have security concerns voiced by our armed forces and thoroughly neglected by the Delhi Durbaar after a hocus attempt to indicate otherwise) or machines or even toys. We can pay a few rupees more if need be but support our own industries and manufacturers. We might compromise with our personal profit but in the long run we are contributing to the nation's safety. We are helping the nation grow. As I had already mentioned in my blog Kill Switch Engaged!, China holds over $ 2.5 trillion in US government bonds. This was a 4 month old figure and must have grown by now. I had also gone on to explain how the American economy has been nibbled rat like as a result of this economic masterstroke by China. The true wise man learns from others mistakes. It is upto the common folk like you and me to de-accelerate the rapid spread of this yellow infection. We should take a leaf out of the book of Arunachal Pradesh Students' Association which has successfully banned Chinese goods in Arunachal.

My friends, be wary of what you purchase and please reject anything which has Chinese on it. We might never know what great service we have done to the nation by this simple act but we surely will know what damage we have done by deciding to buy Chinese goods. This is our choice, this is our Bhaarat....
It is all for the Nation, the Nation for all.

Jai Hind!

Well said Chaita! We are still not learning from History. Or is it that we don't want to? I feel first we must learn to accept our true history analyse it properly & view it in present contest & learn from our rt/wrong deeds.
